God calls on us to be authentic believers and not riding the fence; Matthew 12:33 says Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. It is as if God is saying, you know my commands, you know that it is possible to follow and to be perfected in my way as you live according to my word, will you now commit to follow me? Follow me or flee, in both instances you will reap according to what you know of him.
