God warns us that we are to know the Spirit of God that dwells in us and that in doing so we are we not to just follow after everything and anybody, but that we prove them; that we believe not every spirit. He warns us because there will be counterfeiters who will present themselves and try to convince us that the counterfeit they represent is true.
