Paul’s first priority was to fulfill the mission that God placed upon his life. He was very mindful that believers and non-believers were watching his life; he was careful to avoid any appearance of evil or seeking personal advantage. He took no support from the churches where he ministered, even though he knew it was within his rights as a minister of the gospel. God teaches in this passage that the support of the man of God is ordained and authorized and it should be exercised so that it glorifies God.
